The Hanab Standard for Craftsmanship – Established through co-creation in our 100-day Lab 

As part of the ‘Passion for Craftsmanship’ programme, we have recently taken an important step – working with colleagues from different divisions, we have completed in a 100-day Lab a clear, recognisable and widely-supported standard for craftsmanship at Hanab. 

 This standard describes what we mean by good work, professional conduct and high-quality collaboration. It is our shared compass – which comes about through co-creation, based on practical experience, and intended to help us grow every single day. 

 The Hanab Standard for Craftsmanship consists of three core areas: 

1. Passion, ambition and pride 

Craftsmanship starts with attitude and mindset. Our colleagues say that taking pride in our work, taking ownership and always striving to deliver the best are the foundation of what we do. 

Our standard emphasises that we: 

• Are aware of the agreements, budgets and schedules our work must meet
• Pay attention to risks and safety
• Know our limits and ask for help where necessary
• Work carefully, with attention to detail and a neat and tidy place of work
• Are responsible for safety, quality and sustainability
• Remain curious and identify opportunities for improvement
• Actively promote the ‘The Energy to Connect’ mission 

2. Professional knowledge, expertise and experience 

Craftsmanship means that we maintain and apply our technical knowledge, skills and experience. This involves: 

• Continuous learning
• Staying abreast of developments in the field
• Correctly applying work instructions, standards and legislation
• Thinking ahead to deliver the best possible quality 

3. Open attitude and cooperation 

We believe that you can only be truly good if you work together. That is why cooperation is an essential part of our standard. This means that we:

• Listen and help one another to achieve shared goals
• Share tips, knowledge and learning opportunities
• Show commitment to our colleagues and the community
