Providing insight into detailed sustainability data for high-voltage substations
In collaboration with Prysmian
Ever more projects require detailed sustainability data to analyse their environmental impact
Permits and/or customer requirements are increasingly linked to the impact of raw materials consumption, the impact during construction and the building’s lifecycle and the lifecycle footprint. This also applies to TenneT’s high-voltage substations. As a design and engineering partner, we are happy to be contributing.
Linking data in the Madaster database
Prysmian and Hanab Energy Solutions are important suppliers to TenneT, the transmission grid operator in the Netherlands. TenneT not only plays a leading role in the energy transition but also feels a responsibility to do so sustainably. To support TenneT, we are working with Prysmian to generate environmental data on the Madaster platform. Prysmian supplied the environmental product data for the Madaster database, and we uploaded the essential data to link this information effectively.
Although we already had experience in creating material passports for high-voltage substations, this collaboration makes it possible to use product-specific environmental data rather than generic data. This improves understanding and allows designers to make responsible decisions, which ultimately supports TenneT’s ambition to not only accelerate the energy transition but to ensure that it is responsible.
