New 150/50/13 kV High-Voltage Substation for Krimpen aan den IJssel

Hanab Energy Solutions is delivering a new 150/50/13 kV high-voltage substation for Stedin at the Langeland site in Krimpen aan den IJssel. The existing substation is being replaced with a modern installation designed to meet the growing demand for electricity. Through this project, Hanab is making an important contribution to a reliable and future-proof electricity network for the region.

A future-ready substation

Demand for electricity is growing rapidly. More homes are switching to electric heating, businesses are making their operations more sustainable, and the number of renewable energy sources continues to increase. As a result, the existing electricity grid is coming under increasing pressure.

The new Langeland high-voltage substation will increase network capacity and strengthen the security of supply in the Krimpenerwaard region and surrounding areas. This will create room for further housing developments, economic growth, and the continued transition towards a more sustainable Netherlands.

An integrated approach from design to commissioning

Hanab Energy Solutions is responsible for the complete design, construction, installation and testing of the new substation. Thanks to this integrated approach, all disciplines are closely connected from the very first design phase. This ensures efficient project delivery, high quality standards, and maximum control over planning, safety and execution.

The scope of work includes:

  • The complete design and engineering of the high-voltage substation;
  • The construction of three 150/50 kV transformer bays;
  • The construction of two 50/13 kV transformer bays;
  • Two sections of 50 kV installations;
  • Two sections of 13 kV installations;
  • All secondary and tertiary systems;
  • Accommodation, control and technical buildings;
  • Full site development, infrastructure and security systems.

Before construction can begin, the site will be remediated and prepared for development. The new substation will then be delivered in phases, while ensuring the continuity of the electricity supply throughout the project.
