Everyone home safely
‘Everyone home safely’ is Hanab’s safety programme. Objective: We want everyone to be able to work safely and healthily. We do that by sharing the responsibility of ensuring safe places of work, good behaviour and attention to one another. We learn from mistakes and always look for room for improvement. Our goal is clear: no accidents and for everyone to make it home safely, every single day.
The three pillars
-
Safe place of work
Read moreEveryone who works at or for Hanab must be able to work safely. Which is why we pay special attention to safety: for ourselves, while working and with our partners.
-
Social safety

-
Fit for work

The Hanab Start of the Day – established through co-creation in our 100-day Lab
As part of our ‘Everyone home safely’ programme, we held a 100-day Lab to develop a single, uniform and widely accepted way to start every working day safely and consciously: the Hanab Start of the Day.
The Start of the Day is a daily check-in session during which we review our work, the risks involved and our own well-being. It is a simple, practical way to prevent incidents, boost collaboration and ensure that everyone starts the day with focus and alertness.
What is the Hanab Start of the Day?
The Start of the Day is a short, joint check-in lasting 5 to 10 minutes during which we discuss three set topics:
- Fit for work
- Safe working environment
- Social safety
The aim is to identify risks, coordinate expectations and ensure that everyone is physically and mentally ready to work safely.
At the check-in, we always discuss:
- How present and focused we are
- Changes in safety compared to yesterday
- The day’s schedule: who is doing what, with what and does everyone have authorisation?
- The condition of tools and the safety of the working environment
- Team dynamics and social safety
What is it and what is it not?
It is:
- A joint safety briefing
- A way of starting work safely and consciously
- An integral part of professional craftsmanship
It is not:
- A checklist exercise
- A time for other discussions
- A training session or comprehensive instruction
Part of our way of working
The Hanab Start of the Day is an integral component of our way of working and applies to everyone, at every location. It supports our ambition to work in a culture in which safety is a given and in which quality and collaboration go hand in hand.
Starting every day safely together
The Hanab Start of the Day is more than just a kick-off, it is a way for us to work as a stronger, more alert and safer team. A small investment of time, with a major impact on safety, collaboration and craftsmanship.
Everyone home safely. Every single day.
