Making ’s-Hertogenbosch more sustainable

Making 21 municipal buildings more sustainable

The municipality of ’s-Hertogenbosch is working towards an ambitious goal of being fully climate neutral by 2050. An important first step is to make its own buildings more sustainable. Hanab Installation Technology is proud to be a contributor by making a number of municipal buildings more energy-efficient and future-proof.

Sustainable ambitions put into practice

The project aligns perfectly with the local municipality’s four sustainability goals: a healthy, green and climate-resilient living environment, carbon neutrality, the preservation of raw materials and sustainable mobility. By translating these goals into concrete measures, we are making a direct contribution to a liveable city for future generations.

Buildings and execution

The sustainability project covers 21 buildings, including sports halls, community centres, offices and schools. Hanab is responsible for the technical engineering and installation of electrical and mechanical systems as part of a construction team and in accordance with UAV-2012. Upon delivery, Hanab Installation Technology will remain responsible for maintenance for at least three years, which will include monitoring energy performance. The buildings will remain in use during the works, for which careful measures have been taken to minimise disruption.

Innovative solutions for energy saving

The sustainability project focuses on optimising systems and implementing innovative technologies. These include recalibrating HVAC systems, installing solar panels and heat pumps and replacing conventional lighting with energy-efficient LED lighting. Air handling units with heat recovery have also been installed and energy displays have been fitted in many buildings, giving users insight into consumption and generation.
